All of a quiver...

Another quick update on my progress with the Woodland Indians. Another six done; this time it's all the models with bows.

All six of these are from Perry Miniatures and the difference in detail and animation between these and the Crusader models I've mainly been painting is noticeable.

However, as ever with Perry figures, the additional detail also comes with significantly more flash and cleaning up required.

Nevertheless, better models are more enjoyable to paint and my spirits are higher than last week as now only have two chief models and half a dozen villagers to do before the end of the month. The villagers should be quicker due to the lack of weapons and war paint, so I might try to be a bit more ambitious with the chiefs.

  1. More nice work Kieron. :)

Your choice of flesh-tone has worked out well I think, and it is good that you are past the bulk of the painting on this project. :)

    1. Thanks. I have actually got happier with them as I've gone on. I suspect it's to do with the fact that I like the Perry minis better.

  2. Very nice! Liking the warpaint. Did you add flesh into the black face paint. I have a Furious lady to paint and want to use the same grease/paint she uses in the movie.

    1. I'm never sure that I should give any painting advice, but the black war paint is actually a single coat of dark grey done over the flash colour and washed with black. With it being only a single coat, it shows through in places, which works...sort of.

  3. Looking great. Getting close to the end of a project is totally inspiring. Hopefully once you've got everything done you'll put up a group photo as well to show the horde.

    1. Thanks. I've still got a fair bit of basing to do, but I've got an idea for the group shot at the end of the month.

Any idea what you are going to do with the bases?
